Dice Crypt Casket Box

Some dice cannot be redeemed. Some rolls are not misfortune — they are character. And some dice, after every ritual, every blessing, every desperate plea to the probability gods, simply refuse to serve.

For those dice, there is the Crypt.

When a die has failed you for the last time, place it within. When the casket is full, perform the rite: find a hidden place and dig deep — at least twelve inches. Open the crypt and sprinkle the interior liberally with crushed star anise. Write upon aged paper, in your darkest hand: "To whom it may concern: these objects are cursed. Whoever removes these dice from their crypt for use with any role-playing game does so at the peril of their beloved character(s)." Seal the note inside. Close the lid. Bind it with something permanent — E-6000 holds the condemned well. With a blue candle lit, seal the seam with wax. In the darkest hour of night, lower the Crypt into the earth. Cover it with soil. Roll a d6 and place that many smooth stones atop the mound in whatever polyhedral shape pleases you. Walk away. Do not look back. Never return.

The dice have been judged. The rite is complete.
